Summer Vacation

July 13, 2012

If you follow me on Instagram (you can find me under vanachupp), then you know that we went on our first family vacation since John’s arrival. We spent 5 days in Sutton’s Bay, Michigan at a charming little studio cabin.  The weather couldn’t have been nicer (mid 80’s) which made for perfect trips to the beach almost daily (will share more pictures next week).

It’s been awhile since we had a family vacation. Part of it is due to Aaron’s job situation and the fact that we’re always busy and vacationing (although necessary) never seemed to make the cut. But we finally decided to make it happen. I am so glad we did. Being with my family and thinking very little if any about work, felt just right. We spent our days going to the beach, visiting interesting places, roasting marshmallows by the fire and playing board games in the evenings. It’s amazing how these little things make up for precious family memories.

I am already having a hard time getting back to the old routine. These days I just want to hang out with the boys, watch movies and eat pie.  How about you?
