If you follow me on Twitter
or are a fan on Facebook
you might have read my status updates and even guessed on what this could all be. Because I am terrible at keeping a secret (especially an exciting one like this) I decided to let you all know.
In a little over a month, Nikolas and I will be heading to Europe to spend 4 weeks with my family
. It’s been almost 3 years since we visited my “home” home and I can’t even begin to explain the excitement I’m feeling as I write this post. Unfortunately, Aaron won’t be joining us due to job restrictions. Last month we didn’t think this could be possible
. The idea of missing another opportunity to visit my family, and bring Nikolas along, was killing me. I am thankful it is finally happening…And not because we can afford to (this is a financial sacrifice for sure!) but because at the end of the day family wins over money. Call me crazy, but this is the one decision I’ve been straggling with for the last couple of months – yet I had to take it and not think twice about it. Work will always be here (and thank God for that!) but days turn into months and months into years, and life is too short to not enjoy it with the ones that mean so much to you. With that in mind, I am packing our bags…
In order to enjoy a peaceful break, I must work extra hard through May 30th in preparation for things to run as smooth as possible. I keep telling myself everything will be fine while I’m away and although I plan to bring my laptop for some work, I will mainly focus my attention in spending time with Nikolas and my family. Something tells me this break is going to help me come back recharged and full of new inspirations. I’m all for that!
