We’re back but it doesn’t feel like it! In my mind I am still on vacation…for a bit longer at least.
I don’t know where to begin. We had such a great time in Williamsburg, Virginia! For all of you who have been there, you know what I am talking about. But for the rest of you, these images would have to do for now……
We spent 6 days at Pawhtan Plantation Resort, a place of many memories for my husbands’ family. To mention a few, my mother in law grew up in this place, at this very house and spend her childhood days walking these paths…
The house is located on the right of the Manor House (pictured above) and now serves as a historic 4 star kitchen/restaurant, highly recommended by many. Aaron spent 1 week each year growing up at this plantation/resort. So, it was time for Nikolas and I to join in the fun.
These are a few of the pictures from our visit at the Merchants Square in Colonial Williamsburg. I am stunned by the simplicity and the exquisite craftsmanship in here. The English gardens, the pathways, the tiny, yet so unique homes/shops, the architectural details..
I also had a chance to finish some of my Santa Barbara sketches….
Reproductions of the whole series will soon be available for purchase in my shop.
For my next project I am planning on a series of 4 watercolor illustrations/drawings inspired by the time spent in Williamsburg. More on this coming up….
Thank you to all for stopping by and staying a while….this was by far my longest post.
