“It takes a village to raise a child.” ~ African proverb
All mamas know that it truly takes a village to raise our children. As we all collectively strive to be better and do better for our little ones, we launched the LPS It Takes a Village initiative in June with the idea that, together, we can affect the change we’d like to see in this world right where we are.
Each quarter, we’ve chosen to lift up those small, Black-owned businesses we love who contribute to our communities in numerous ways -- because Black Lives DO Matter, today and always. Our goal is to raise awareness for these extraordinary small businesses by matching all in-store purchases (up to $250 per person) with the equivalent amount in a Le Papier Studio gift card.
In June, we kicked the program off with RVA-based children’s clothes and gift store, Little Nomad. Known for its world-class children’s book selection and legendary kids’ dance parties, owner Anthony Bryant carefully curates each item in this most adorable boutique.
Vana met with Anthony in a recent visit and shared ways that parents and children could enjoy this special back-to-school season, no matter what that looks like for you - virtual, hybrid, or in-person school. For example, if you typically gift your child with a new backpack at the start of the school year, how about a new lunch box and book for a picnic lunch break together!
And, how about these timely (and too cute!) tees.
Together, we are better! And, as a result of this partnership, we are so delighted to have matched $2,800 in purchases. Please help us reach our goal, there’s still time. *Email your receipt to LPSvillage@lepapierstudio.com, and we will reply with a gift card for the same amount you spent (up to $250 per person.)
